Truth be told we've always flip-flopped, mostly floppage ensuing, on this whole cadre of lo-fi girl groups with guitars and bite and offhand harmonies and surf garage uncleanliness. There's just too many of them doing the same thing and there should be a law reducing their output. What would be good is if this were the benchmark, the reconvening of the Vivians (no, hang on, there's already been a band called that. Or was that Vyvyan?) from their million side projects that were all much the same for the first release from April's Share The Joy. It's a bit cleaner and comes with a proper swing, concise guitar work, little stuff going on in the background and for once a sense that it has to be doing this out of fuzzbomb destiny rather than rote.
